This seminar is related mainly to "1. The basic theory for analyzing and assessing risk" and partly to "6. The ability to carry out tasks and take a leadership role in a research project."
This course is designed to provide an environment in which presentation and discussion skills are improved through interaction with other students. Also, this course aims at the acquisition of ethical knowledge. 1) Acquiring broad knowledge in risk engineering, and active participation in questions and answers. 2) Acquiring skills to make logical and persuasive presentations within restricted time. 3) Acquiring knowledge about research ethics and engineering ethics.

Limited to students in the department of risk engineering
The evaluation will be based on individual presentations, reports, attendance, and questions and answers. The presentations will be evaluated based on the logic, clarity, persuasiveness, and length. Students should explain how the contents of presentation can contribute to a safe, secure, and stable society. Questions and answers will be evaluated based on level of participation, accuracy, and clarity. Students should attend RERM not less than 6 times.
-own presentation (5%) -auditing and discussion at presentation by other students and RERM (95%) -outside of the class: preparation of presentation materials and preparation for the presentation
