Course Objectives(Learning Outcomes)
The course aims at developing understanding of a wide range of topics in risk and resilience engineering and the acquisition of skill in presentation techniques through the students' research. Also, this course aims at the acquisition of ethical knowledge.
1) Acquiring broad knowledge in risk and resilience engineering, and participating actively through presentation, questions and answers as a doctoral course student.
2) Acquiring skills to make logical and persuasive presentations within restricted time as a doctoral course student.
3) Acquiring research ethics and engineering ethics, and the procedures concerning them, as a doctoral course student.
Course Keywords
risk engineering, resilience engineering, presentation ability, discussion ability, researcher ethics & engineer ethics
Grading Philosophy
The evaluation will be based on individual presentations, reports, attendance, and questions and answers. The presentations will be evaluated based on the logic, clarity, persuasiveness, and length. Students should explain how the contents of presentation can contribute to a safe, secure, and stable society.
